Basic skincare consists of 3 stages. Cleaning (indispensable), moisturizing and sun protection.
The main product used for moisturizing – moisturizer cream or gel. Then tonics, serums and masks.
Choosing the right moisturizer means getting the maximum effect from the product you bought.
Moisturizers usually include 3 groups of ingredients according to their composition:
1️⃣Humectant – absorb moisture from the affected area and thus moisturize the skin. This group includes – Hyaluronic acid, glycerin, aloe, collagen, honey, etc.
2️⃣Emollients – gives the cream a creamy texture (lipids and fats) – silicone, vegetable oils, saturated fats, avocado oil, ceramides, lettuce oil, oleic acid.3️⃣Occlusives – substances that trap moisture in the skin and reduce evaporation from the skin – silicone, vaseline, paraffin, olive oil, lanolin, mineral oil, squalene, squalene (my favourite❤️) and others.
Once you know this, you can choose the right cream for you. Just look at the composition.
For example, dry skin can benefit from these 3 bases, because it has both the ability to retain moisture and its own oil. (but most emollient ingredients are suitable).
Oily skin, on the other hand, does not need strong occlusive and emollient substances. Can use basic moisturizer (water-based, oil-free).
☝️It is better to buy and use 2 moisturizers for combination skin (in a small package for the T-zone, the usual size for the rest).
